Beneath Kane Tower
The Last Call · July 21, 2026
Kane Tower stood in the center of the city.
At midnight, Daniel entered through an underground parking garage.
His mother stayed with Vale.
Daniel carried the key.
He reached the basement.
A hidden elevator took him underground.
The doors opened.
A corridor stretched ahead.
Security cameras followed him.
Daniel continued.
At the end was a steel door.
The key opened it.
Tom was inside.
He looked older.
Thinner.
But alive.
Daniel stood frozen.
“Tom.”
His brother looked up.
“Daniel.”
They embraced.
For a moment, everything disappeared.
Then Tom pushed him away.
“We have to go.”
“Not until you tell me everything.”
Tom looked at the cameras.
“The Circle has been studying our family for twenty years.”
“Why?”
“Because Mom discovered something.”
“What?”
Tom’s eyes filled with fear.
“Project Mirror isn’t about controlling memories.”
Daniel stared at him.
“Then what is it?”
“Predicting behavior.”
Tom explained that The Circle had developed a system that could analyze people’s memories, fears, habits, and choices.
It could predict what a person would do.
They used it to control politicians.
Businesses.
Criminal investigations.
Even entire cities.
“And you?” Daniel asked.
Tom looked away.
“I helped build it.”
Daniel stepped back.
“You worked for them.”
“I thought I could destroy it.”
“You lied to me.”
“I was trying to protect you.”
Suddenly, alarms sounded.
Tom grabbed Daniel.
“They know you’re here.”
They ran.
Security guards appeared.
Tom fought them.
Daniel escaped into another corridor.
Then Victor Kane appeared.
He held a gun.
“Daniel.”
Daniel stopped.
Victor smiled.
“Your brother was always difficult.”
“Where is my mother?”
“Safe.”
“Let us go.”
Victor laughed.
“You still don’t understand.”
He pointed to a screen.
A live video appeared.
Daniel’s mother sat inside a room.
Detective Vale stood beside her.
Victor continued.
“Your mother is the key to Project Mirror.”
Daniel looked at Tom.
“What does he mean?”
Tom whispered.
“She created the original system.”
Victor smiled.
“And your brother improved it.”
Daniel realized the truth.
The entire conspiracy had been built around his family.
Victor raised his gun.
But before he could shoot, Vale appeared.
He fired first.
Victor fell.
The alarms continued.
Tom grabbed Daniel.
“Run!”
They escaped the building.
Outside, police surrounded Kane Tower.
But Daniel saw something strange.
Victor was gone.
His body had disappeared.
Daniel looked at Tom.
“He survived.”
Tom nodded.
“We need to destroy the system.”
“How?”
Tom looked at him.
“You’re the final key.”
Daniel froze.
Project Mirror had used Daniel’s memories for years.
His mind contained the final data needed to activate the system.
Victor wanted Daniel alive.
They returned to the underground facility.
Tom connected Daniel to the system.
Screens filled the room.
Thousands of names appeared.
The system activated.
A voice spoke.
SUBJECT 47 IDENTIFIED.
Daniel closed his eyes.
Memories flooded back.
His mother’s fake funeral.
Tom’s disappearance.
The night of the accident.
He remembered everything.
Victor had caused the crash.
Tom had survived.
His mother had escaped.
And Daniel had been manipulated.
Daniel opened his eyes.
“Tom.”
His brother looked at him.
“I remember.”
Then the system changed.
A countdown appeared.
SELF-DESTRUCTION: 10 MINUTES.
Tom stared.
“What did you do?”
Daniel smiled.
“I gave it what it wanted.”
His own memories.
The system began deleting itself.
But one final message appeared.
VICTOR KANE – ACTIVE.
Tom’s face changed.
“He escaped.”
A gunshot exploded.
Tom fell.
Daniel screamed.
Victor stood behind them.
“Did you really think it would be that easy?”
