SEVEN SINS
THE CURSE OF BLACKWOOD HOUSE · July 23, 2026
Amelia stood frozen in the hallway.
The blood on the wall was still wet.
ONE DOWN. SIX MORE TO GO.
She stared at the words until her eyes began to hurt.
Daniel was gone.
There was no sign of him.
Only his jacket remained on the floor.
Amelia slowly bent down and picked it up.
It was covered in blood.
“Daniel?”
Her voice trembled.
No answer.
She looked toward the front door.
It was still open.
Beyond it, the rain had returned.
Heavy.
Violent.
But Amelia couldn’t leave.
Not without finding Daniel.
She turned toward the basement.
The door was still open.
Darkness waited below.
She remembered the letter.
Find the room beneath the house.
Her grandmother had known.
She had known everything.
Amelia took a step toward the basement.
Then another.
The moment her foot touched the first step—
the door behind her slammed shut.
Amelia jumped.
She turned around.
“Daniel?”
Nothing.
She grabbed her phone.
The screen was dead.
The battery had been full only minutes ago.
Now it showed nothing.
She looked at the basement again.
There was no other choice.
If Daniel was alive, he was down there.
And if he wasn’t—
she needed to know what had happened to him.
Amelia descended.
The stairs were narrow.
The air became colder with every step.
The smell grew stronger.
Something rotten.
Something old.
Something that had been buried for years.
At the bottom, Amelia found herself in a long corridor.
The walls were made of stone.
Water dripped from the ceiling.
She turned on her phone flashlight.
The beam revealed dozens of scratches on the walls.
Names.
Dates.
Some were written in red.
Others had been carved directly into the stone.
Amelia moved closer.
She recognized one name.
ISABELLA BLACKWOOD
Below it was a date.
October 14, 2001.
Amelia’s heart began beating faster.
That was the year Isabella had disappeared.
She looked at the other names.
There were six more.
THOMAS BLACKWOOD
MARGARET BLACKWOOD
EDWARD BLACKWOOD
LUCAS BLACKWOOD
ROSE BLACKWOOD
And finally—
ELEANOR BLACKWOOD.
Her grandmother.
Amelia stepped backward.
Seven names.
Seven victims.
She remembered the message.
Your family has seven sins.
I have seven victims.
Amelia whispered:
“Isabella…”
A cold breeze moved through the corridor.
Then a voice answered.
“Yes.”
Amelia turned.
Isabella stood at the end of the hallway.
Her white dress was covered in blood.
Her hair hung over her face.
Amelia couldn’t breathe.
“You killed Daniel.”
Isabella tilted her head.
“Did I?”
“Where is he?”
“Safe.”
“You’re lying.”
Isabella smiled.
“Why would I lie to you?”
“Because you’re killing people.”
“I am taking back what was stolen.”
“What was stolen?”
“My life.”
Amelia stared at her.
“You were murdered.”
“Yes.”
“By my family.”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
Isabella took one step forward.
The temperature dropped.
“Because I knew the truth.”
“What truth?”
Isabella stopped.
Her black eyes stared through Amelia.
“Your family made a promise.”
“What promise?”
“To something that lived beneath this house.”
Amelia felt a chill.
“What lived beneath the house?”
Isabella smiled.
“Something older than your family.”
The lights on Amelia’s phone flickered.
Then went out.
Complete darkness.
Amelia heard footsteps.
Isabella was gone.
“Hello?”
No answer.
Then—
a whisper.
Right behind her.
“Run.”
Amelia ran.
She didn’t know where she was going.
She followed the corridor until she reached a wooden door.
She grabbed the handle.
Locked.
Something was coming behind her.
Footsteps.
Slow.
Heavy.
Amelia searched the walls.
Nothing.
Then she saw it.
A small key hanging from a nail.
She grabbed it.
The footsteps became louder.
Amelia put the key into the lock.
It turned.
The door opened.
She rushed inside.
And slammed it shut.
Silence.
Amelia leaned against the door.
Her heart was racing.
She looked around.
The room was enormous.
Shelves covered every wall.
Old documents.
Boxes.
Photographs.
Medical files.
Amelia moved closer.
There were hundreds of them.
She picked up one file.
BLACKWOOD FAMILY — CONFIDENTIAL
Her hands shook.
She opened it.
The first page contained a list.
THE SEVEN.
- Thomas Blackwood
- Margaret Blackwood
- Edward Blackwood
- Lucas Blackwood
- Rose Blackwood
- Eleanor Blackwood
- Isabella Blackwood
Amelia frowned.
Isabella was listed as one of the seven.
That didn’t make sense.
She turned the page.
A sentence was written in black ink.
THE SEVEN MADE THE PACT.
Another page.
THE SEVEN BROKE THE PACT.
Then:
THE SEVEN MUST PAY.
Amelia’s hands began trembling.
She looked at the photographs.
They showed seven people standing in front of Blackwood House.
Her grandmother.
Isabella.
And five other members of the family.
But there was something strange.
In every photograph—
Isabella looked terrified.
The others were smiling.
Amelia turned another page.
A photograph fell out.
She picked it up.
Her breath stopped.
It showed Isabella.
But she wasn’t alone.
A young girl stood beside her.
The girl was Amelia.
Eight years old.
Amelia stared at the photograph.
“No.”
She turned it over.
A date was written on the back.
October 14, 2001.
The same date Isabella disappeared.
Amelia’s memories began returning.
She remembered the house.
The rain.
Her grandmother screaming.
A woman crying.
A door being locked.
And Isabella.
Amelia had seen her.
That night.
She had been there.
She had witnessed something.
But her memory had been erased.
Amelia dropped the photograph.
A sound came from behind her.
Someone was crying.
She turned.
A young girl was sitting in the corner.
Eight years old.
Amelia stared at her.
The girl looked familiar.
Very familiar.
“Who are you?”
The girl lifted her head.
It was Amelia.
Her younger self.
Amelia stepped backward.
“No.”
The child smiled.
“You remember me.”
“What are you?”
The girl stood.
“I am you.”
“You’re not real.”
“I am the part of you that remembers.”
Amelia shook her head.
“Remembers what?”
The little girl pointed toward the floor.
“Her death.”
Amelia’s heart stopped.
“Isabella’s?”
The child nodded.
“She didn’t die here.”
“What?”
“She was buried alive.”
Amelia covered her mouth.
“Who did it?”
The girl smiled.
“Your grandmother.”
“No.”
“She locked Isabella inside the grave.”
“Why?”
“Because Isabella tried to stop them.”
“Stop what?”
The child looked toward the ceiling.
“From feeding the house.”
Amelia stared.
“Feeding it?”
The little girl walked closer.
“Every twenty-five years, the house needs seven souls.”
Amelia’s blood ran cold.
“Seven?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“To keep it asleep.”
Amelia shook her head.
“This is impossible.”
The girl smiled.
“You’re already dead.”
Amelia froze.
“What?”
The child disappeared.
Amelia stood alone.
Then the door opened.
Daniel was standing there.
Amelia screamed.
“Daniel!”
She ran toward him.
He caught her.
“Amelia!”
“You’re alive!”
“Of course I’m alive.”
“I thought Isabella killed you.”
Daniel frowned.
“Who?”
“Isabella.”
“Amelia, there is no Isabella.”
Amelia stared at him.
“Don’t.”
“Don’t what?”
“Lie to me.”
Daniel looked confused.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Amelia stepped backward.
“You’re not Daniel.”
He stared at her.
“What?”
“You disappeared.”
“I was looking for you.”
“You left your jacket.”
“What jacket?”
Amelia looked down.
She was no longer holding his jacket.
It was gone.
She stared at Daniel.
His clothes were dry.
But his face was pale.
Too pale.
“Where were you?”
“I told you. I was looking for you.”
“Where?”
“The basement.”
“Why?”
Daniel didn’t answer.
Amelia stepped closer.
“What did you find?”
“Nothing.”
“You’re lying.”
“Amelia.”
“Tell me!”
Daniel’s eyes suddenly changed.
They became completely black.
Amelia screamed.
The thing wearing Daniel’s face smiled.
“You should have listened to your grandmother.”
Amelia ran.
The door slammed shut behind her.
She heard Daniel laughing.
Then—
a different voice.
Isabella.
“Six more.”
Amelia ran through the basement.
She reached the stairs.
But they were gone.
The corridor had changed.
The stone walls were covered with blood.
Seven doors had appeared.
Each door had a name.
THOMAS
MARGARET
EDWARD
LUCAS
ROSE
ELEANOR
ISABELLA
Amelia stared.
The door marked ELEANOR slowly opened.
Her grandmother stood inside.
Alive.
Amelia couldn’t move.
“Grandmother?”
Eleanor smiled.
“Come in.”
“You’re dead.”
“Not yet.”
Amelia stepped closer.
“Where is Daniel?”
Eleanor’s expression changed.
“He’s already dead.”
Amelia froze.
“What?”
“Daniel died seventeen years ago.”
“No.”
“His family never told you.”
“You’re lying.”
“Ask yourself.”
Eleanor stepped forward.
“When was the last time you saw Daniel before tonight?”
Amelia tried to remember.
She couldn’t.
She had returned to the village three days ago.
She had met Daniel at the funeral.
Hadn’t she?
But the memory was blurry.
Eleanor smiled.
“You never met him.”
Amelia shook her head.
“No.”
“Daniel Carter died in this house.”
“Stop.”
“He was one of Isabella’s victims.”
Amelia stared.
“Why would Isabella kill him?”
“She didn’t.”
Eleanor whispered:
“The house did.”
Amelia felt sick.
“Then who was the man upstairs?”
Eleanor’s eyes filled with fear.
“The same thing that killed Daniel.”
“What?”
Eleanor looked behind Amelia.
Amelia turned.
The corridor was empty.
Eleanor whispered:
“Don’t say his name.”
“Whose?”
“The thing beneath the house.”
Suddenly, the walls began shaking.
Eleanor screamed.
“Run!”
Amelia turned.
A huge shadow appeared behind Eleanor.
It had the shape of a man.
But it was far too tall.
Its head touched the ceiling.
Two red eyes opened.
Eleanor screamed.
“ISABELLA!”
The shadow grabbed her.
Amelia watched in horror as Eleanor was pulled into the darkness.
“Grandmother!”
The door slammed shut.
Amelia ran toward it.
But before she could reach the door—
she heard Eleanor’s final scream.
Then silence.
Amelia stood frozen.
The door slowly opened.
There was no one inside.
Only blood.
And another message carved into the wall.
TWO DOWN.
Amelia began crying.
“No…”
A whisper came from behind her.
She turned.
Isabella was standing there.
Amelia screamed.
“You killed my grandmother.”
Isabella stared at her.
“No.”
“Then who did?”
Isabella pointed toward the darkness.
“The house.”
“Why?”
“Because she broke the promise.”
“What promise?”
Isabella stepped closer.
“The promise your family made to me.”
Amelia shook her head.
“You said the house needs seven souls.”
“No.”
Isabella’s face changed.
For the first time, Amelia saw genuine fear in her eyes.
“The house doesn’t need seven souls.”
“Then what does it need?”
Isabella whispered:
“Seven sacrifices.”
Amelia froze.
“What’s the difference?”
Isabella looked toward the ceiling.
“The first six are for the house.”
“And the seventh?”
Isabella looked directly at Amelia.
“The seventh is for me.”
Amelia’s blood ran cold.
“Who is the seventh?”
Isabella smiled.
“You.”
The basement doors all slammed shut.
Isabella disappeared.
Amelia screamed.
And from somewhere deep beneath the house—
a voice began chanting.
One…
Two…
Three…
Amelia ran toward the stairs.
But before she reached them, she heard a familiar voice.
Daniel.
“Amelia!”
She stopped.
He was standing at the top of the stairs.
Alive.
Real.
Blood covered his face.
“Daniel!”
He looked terrified.
“Don’t come up here.”
“Why?”
“Because they’re waiting.”
“Who?”
Daniel looked behind him.
Amelia saw seven shadows standing in the hallway.
Daniel whispered:
“Your family.”
The shadows slowly moved toward him.
Daniel screamed.
“Run, Amelia!”
She ran toward him.
But the moment she reached the stairs—
the door slammed shut between them.
Amelia hit the door.
“Daniel!”
His voice came from the other side.
“Amelia!”
Then silence.
Amelia stepped backward.
A hand touched her shoulder.
She turned.
Isabella stood behind her.
This time, her face wasn’t angry.
She looked sad.
“Your family killed me.”
Amelia stared.
“Why are you doing this?”
“Because they deserve to suffer.”
“But Daniel?”
“Daniel was innocent.”
“Then why did you kill him?”
“I didn’t.”
Amelia’s eyes widened.
“Then who did?”
Isabella looked toward the dark corridor.
“The house.”
“What is this house?”
Isabella whispered:
“A prison.”
“For whom?”
Isabella looked at Amelia.
“For something that has been waiting for you.”
Suddenly, a deep voice came from beneath the floor.
“Amelia.”
Isabella stepped backward.
Her expression changed to terror.
“Don’t answer.”
The voice came again.
“Amelia Rose.”
Amelia covered her ears.
Isabella screamed:
“Don’t answer it!”
The floor cracked.
A black hand emerged from beneath the stone.
Amelia screamed.
Isabella grabbed her.
“Run!”
They ran together.
A ghost and a living woman.
Behind them, the basement began collapsing.
The seven doors opened.
Dark shadows rushed out.
Amelia and Isabella reached the staircase.
Isabella pushed Amelia upward.
“Go!”
“What about you?”
“I have to stay.”
“Why?”
Isabella looked at her.
“Because this is my revenge.”
Amelia shook her head.
“You don’t have to do this.”
Isabella smiled.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because your family didn’t just kill me.”
She pointed toward Amelia.
“They killed my child.”
Amelia froze.
“What?”
Isabella’s eyes filled with tears.
“My daughter.”
Amelia couldn’t breathe.
“Who was she?”
Isabella looked directly at her.
“You.”
Silence.
Amelia stared at Isabella.
“No.”
“Yes.”
“You’re lying.”
“Your grandmother stole you from me.”
Amelia shook her head.
“My mother—”
“Was not your mother.”
Amelia stepped backward.
“Stop.”
“Your grandmother raised you.”
“Stop!”
“She erased your memories.”
Amelia screamed:
“STOP!”
The house shook.
Isabella whispered:
“You are my daughter.”
Amelia stared at her.
Then the basement exploded with a deafening roar.
Isabella pushed Amelia toward the stairs.
“Go!”
Amelia ran.
Behind her, Isabella screamed.
“Find the room beneath the house!”
Amelia turned.
Isabella was being dragged into the darkness.
“Isabella!”
The ghost looked at her.
“Find the truth.”
The darkness swallowed her.
Amelia ran upstairs.
She reached the hallway.
The house was silent.
No Daniel.
No grandmother.
No ghosts.
Only the portrait of Isabella.
Amelia looked at it.
For the first time, she noticed something.
A small inscription beneath the painting.
She stepped closer.
The words were barely visible.
ISABELLA BLACKWOOD
MOTHER OF AMELIA ROSE
Amelia’s breath stopped.
Then a sound came from behind the painting.
A soft knocking.
Three times.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
Amelia moved closer.
She touched the portrait.
It moved.
Behind it was a hidden door.
Amelia opened it.
A narrow staircase led downward.
Far below—
a woman’s voice whispered:
“My daughter…”
Amelia stepped inside.
The door closed behind her.
And somewhere above—
the house began to laugh.
