Evan stood beside the window of an abandoned apartment, looking down at the city.

Luna stood behind him.

“That’s exactly what someone from the future would say.”

“Mother.”

Evan froze.

“What?”

The woman looked at him.

“Hello, Evan.”

Evan stared.

“Who are you?”

She smiled.

“You know me.”

“No, I don’t.”

“You will.”

Luna stepped forward.

“Don’t listen to her.”

The woman laughed.

“Still protecting him?”

“Stay away from him.”

“You always were stubborn.”

Evan looked at Luna.

“Who is she?”

“She’s my mother.”

“She was.”
